This lady was riding her bike when it started to rain. She stopped under the awning of this abandoned building to rest while the rain passed.

I’ve been periodically working on a story about a girl going through ACL surgery (I wrote a post about it a while ago but never published it. Maybe I’ll do that.) This is her dad watching her go through her first rehab after the surgery

Guess who. Also, there’s a full moon tonight if anyone’s interested.

It’s been a while. The well has run dry, so I’ve been doing a lot of hunting, including two rain features in the past two days. Water is wet, especially when it falls out of the sky.
Here’s some stuff from the past few weeks.

The sun rises at 6:00, but doesn’t hit the beach until, like, 7. That would have been good to know.

This guy was hunting for shells with his wife. They are from Sweden (the man and his wife, not the shells).

I think I like this one better.

Sailing camp on a lake.

BMX camp.

A car wreck I found while looking for a rain feature.

A rain feature I found while looking for a construction feature.

Look who came to visit.

Lightning is good pictures, if you can catch it.
A great photographer once told me never to chimp. “When you stop to look at the back of your camera, you’re missing moments that you could otherwise be shooting,” he said.
Well I’ll be damned if every time I hit the Display button, a bolt of light would shoot from the clouds. Lesson learned.

It was a familiar day. It was raining and we didn’t have a centerpiece for the paper. That means that I got to go around campus and shoot weather features, pictures of people getting rained on, or trying to stop themselves from getting rained on. Photojournalist Elliott Erwitt once said that bad weather makes for good pictures, and he was damn right. The only thing that stands between you and excellent pictures is your willingness to get soaked yourself, so put your camera in a trash bag, throw on your rain coat and head out to shoot.

I pretty much stole this from Britney, but I had a long lens and she was without.

I kind of liked this, but I think the people were too insignificant.

I would have waited for hours for someone to walk through the third floor on the first photo and the second or third level on the second photo, but I had a weather feature CP to shoot, so time was limited.
